Geely Auto’s sub-brand Geely Galaxy has submitted a new hybrid sedan, the Starshine 6, for regulatory approval in China as part of its ongoing model rollout. The vehicle was included in the latest catalog published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), which lists new vehicle models proposed for sale.
The public can submit feedback on the filing between July 17 and 23. Inclusion in the MIIT catalog is the final major step before a vehicle model is approved for sale in the country.

The Starshine 6 is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) listed under two model numbers—HQ7151DCHEV100 and HQ7151DCHEV101. It measures 4,806 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,756 mm.
The sedan has a curb weight of up to 1,580 kilograms and supports a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine producing 82 kW of power and uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by CALB and Rept Battero Energy. According to the filing, the vehicle will be produced at Geely’s facility in Huzhou, Zhejiang province.

The Starshine 6 follows the larger Starshine 8 hybrid sedan, and its more compact dimensions suggest it will be priced below the Starshine 8, which currently ranges from RMB 125,800 ($17,520) to RMB 165,800. The new model joins a series of recent launches under the Galaxy brand, including the A7 hybrid sedan and the M9 SUV, both built on Geely’s GEA platform. The brand is also preparing to introduce the 2025 E5 electric SUV on July 24.
Geely Galaxy was initially introduced as a product line in February 2023 and became a standalone brand in March 2024. According to data released on July 1, Geely Galaxy delivered 548,408 vehicles in the first half of 2025, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 232 percent. Geely Auto reported total sales of 1,409,180 vehicles during the same period, representing a 47.45 percent increase compared to the previous year.
