Geely Auto’s Xingyuan electric vehicle has surpassed 500,000 cumulative deliveries, marking a major milestone for one of China’s best-selling battery electric models, the automaker said on Tuesday.
The milestone was announced by Geely Galaxy, a sub-brand of Geely Auto, which said the Xingyuan EV has recorded monthly sales of more than 40,000 units for six consecutive months. From January to November, the model posted retail sales of 429,628 units in China, the highest of any single model during the period, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association cited by Geely Galaxy.
The Xingyuan EV has also gained traction globally. It ranked among the world’s top-selling battery electric vehicles in the third quarter alongside models from Tesla, according to a Dec. 7 report from Counterpoint Research. While the report did not disclose quarterly sales figures, data compiled by CnEVPost showed Xingyuan retail sales of 138,411 units in the third quarter.
Launched in October 2024 with an initial starting price of RMB 69,800, the Xingyuan EV primarily competes with entry-level electric models from BYD, including the Seagull and Dolphin. Geely updated the model in October this year, introducing the 2026 Xingyuan EV with a limited-time starting price of RMB 65,800 ($9,360).
The latest Xingyuan EV measures 4,135 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm and is powered by a rear-mounted single motor delivering either 58 kW or 85 kW. It is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by CATL, offering ranges of up to 410 km, Geely said.
