Ford has shared new information on the 2026 Puma Gen-E, confirming that the refreshed compact electric crossover will receive a battery update enabling more than 400 km of range.
The company also highlighted a significant software upgrade, as the model will adopt Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driver assistance system for the first time.
While Ford says the Gen-E will become “even better,” the announcement leaves several technical details undisclosed. The current 43 kWh pack has been redesigned to push WLTP range from 376 km to above 400 km, with Ford additionally claiming an urban range of more than 550 km.
The manufacturer did not specify whether the improvements come from higher-density cells or structural changes within the battery pack, though the scale of the increase suggests energy-density gains may play a key role.
The rollout of BlueCruise marks the other major update for the Puma Gen-E. The system allows hands-free driving on more than 135,000 km of approved “blue route” highways across Europe. Customers will need to purchase the Driver Assistance Pack to access the feature, and Ford has indicated that three upcoming models will also receive BlueCruise capability.
Ford has not yet announced pricing or subscription details for the driver assistance service. The 2026 Puma Gen-E is scheduled to go on sale in spring 2026, with additional specifications to be released closer to launch.
