Electrify America announced Wednesday, August 17, that all owners of F-150 Lightning owners will receive 250 kWh of free charging via FordPass Rewards at Electrify America ultra-fast charging stations.
However, in an official statement, the company says that this included charging benefit is only available to retail customers of the F-150 Lightning.
For F-150 Lightning customers with standard range batteries, 250 kWh of fast charging energy equals nearly three “charge” sessions, or nearly full, or up to 575 miles of electric driving.
“The Electrifying F-150, America’s best-selling vehicle, is a game changer for bringing electric vehicles fully mainstream,” said Giovanni Palazzo, president and CEO of Electrify America.
The F-150 Lightning is one of the most anticipated electric vehicles (EVs). Truck orders quickly hit nearly 200,000 before the order bank opened earlier in the year.
Using the DC Electrify America fast charger, the F-150 Lightning with long-range battery is expected to add a range of 54 miles in about 10 minutes.
Moreover, the vehicle can achieve a charge from 15 percent to 80 percent in just about 41 minutes.
Palazzo is proud to own the F-150 Lightning and all Ford electric vehicles taking advantage of Electrify America’s ultra-fast charging network.
The company said that Electrify America will continue to drive EV adoption forward through the development of ultra-fast EV charging.
Currently, Electrify America has 800 charging stations. Electrify America also expects to build more than 1,800 total charging stations with more than 10,000 chargers in the United States and Canada by 2026.
