Fiat has officially unveiled its newest electric vehicle, the Topolino quadricycle, following a teaser preview over a month ago. With a length of 2.53 meters (99.6 inches), the Topolino is Fiat’s smallest electric car to date, offering a compact and agile option for urban driving.
The Fiat Topolino draws inspiration from the Citroën Ami, but it features distinctive front and rear ends that give it a distinct Fiat identity. The vehicle will be available in two body configurations: the closed Topolino, designed for city driving, and the open-air Topolino Dolcevita, which has a beach-themed aesthetic perfect for seaside adventures. The Dolcevita model boasts a spacious canvas roof and rope handles in place of traditional doors, adding a touch of fun and style.
In Italy, both variants of the Topolino are priced at $10,770 (9,890 euros), making them slightly more expensive than the base Citroën Ami. However, Fiat justifies the higher price point by offering enhanced equipment levels compared to the Ami and its Opel Rocks Electric counterpart.
The Topolino comes equipped with several notable features, including a chrome luggage rack called the Dolcevita Box, which provides a functional fabric band inside the vehicle for storing personal items. It also features vintage chrome effect mirrors, adding a retro flair to the overall design.
Buyers can personalize their Topolino with various options. These include a shower attachment to rinse off after a day at the beach, wooden effect stickers for the closed model’s doors, and roof stickers with stylish stripes for the Dolcevita version.
Furthermore, Fiat offers five optional accessories to enhance the Topolino’s functionality and convenience. These accessories include a spacious rack bag, a USB fan, a Bluetooth speaker, a thermal water bottle suitable for both hot and cold drinks, and two seat covers that double as soft beach towels when needed.
Regardless of the chosen model, the Topolino is available in a single body color, Verde Vita. It also features a single wheel design and a unified interior configuration, maintaining simplicity and cohesion throughout.
Similar to the Citroën Ami, the Topolino can be driven by individuals as young as 14, provided they possess a motorcycle license. However, in most European markets, the vehicle can be operated from the age of 16.
The Topolino has a top speed limited to 28 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour) and can travel up to 46 miles (75 kilometers) on a full charge. The vehicle is powered by a 5.4-kilowatt-hour battery that takes approximately four hours to charge from zero to 100 percent state of charge (SoC).
Reservations for the compact Topolino have already opened in Italy and France, with the first deliveries expected to take place by the end of the year in Fiat’s home market. This innovative electric vehicle aims to offer a stylish, practical, and environmentally friendly transportation solution for urban dwellers and beach enthusiasts alike.
