Chinese electric vehicle maker Farizon has introduced two new variants of its all-electric SV large van: a seven-seat taxi and a multi-passenger Combi. Both models were unveiled at the Hong Kong Auto Expo and are initially available in the Chinese market.

Farizon has already secured a 1,000-vehicle order for the SV taxi from Hong Kong taxi operator Big Bee, though no delivery timeline has been specified. The SV taxi is designed with passenger comfort in mind, featuring a 900mm power sliding side door, hidden B-pillar, 408mm cabin step, and rear double doors that open to a 1.78-metre-wide aperture with 630 litres of luggage capacity. The interior accommodates seven passengers across three rows and includes USB Type-C charging ports, cupholders, and multifunction storage boxes.

The SV Combi is intended for fleets requiring flexible passenger and cargo transport. Configurable with five or six seats, it has a low 52 cm platform height and hidden B-pillar design. Cargo capacity ranges from 3.8m³ in the 5-metre L1 version to 5m³ in the 5.5-metre L2 variant.

Both models use Farizon’s GXA-M platform with Cell-to-Pack (CTP-S) battery technology, which connects cells directly to the battery pack, improving body rigidity by 20% compared with conventional module packaging. The SV taxi offers a range of up to 370km, while the Combi can travel up to 319km, with a 20%-80% recharge achievable in 30 minutes.

While currently sold in China, Farizon is evaluating opportunities for international expansion. The SV panel van is already available in the UK and incorporates several advanced technologies aimed at meeting the needs of European fleets.

Founded in 2016, Farizon focuses on zero-emission commercial vehicles and offers vans, trucks, and buses. The company is part of China’s Geely Group, which also owns Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Zeekr, and holds a 50% stake in Smart.
