The 2026 Nissan LEAF marks the most significant transformation in the model’s history, evolving from a compact hatchback into a modern, SUV-inspired electric crossover.
Now in its third generation, the all-new LEAF emphasizes greater efficiency, advanced technology, and improved everyday practicality—positioning itself as Nissan’s boldest effort yet to reclaim dominance in the mainstream EV market.

With an estimated range of up to 488 kilometers and access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, this next-gen LEAF offers a compelling package for EV buyers.
At launch, the 2026 LEAF will be available in three trims—S+, SV+, and Platinum+—each powered by a 75-kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery paired with a single front-mounted motor. The system delivers up to 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque.
The base S+ trim achieves the highest range at 488 km (303 miles), followed by the SV+ with 464 km (288 miles) and the Platinum+ with 417 km (259 miles). A more affordable 52-kWh variant with 174 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque will join the lineup later, though range details are still pending.

DC fast charging at up to 150 kW is now supported via a native NACS (North American Charging Standard) port, enabling access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. A second J1772 port supports AC charging, and Plug & Charge functionality streamlines public charging without apps or cards.
The interior of the new LEAF has been completely redesigned for space and sophistication. A flat floor and reconfigured center console improve usability, while dual 14.3-inch displays with built-in Google apps highlight the tech-forward cabin on upper trims.
Base trims come with dual 12.3-inch displays and support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The range-topping Platinum+ adds premium features such as Nissan’s first dimmable electrochromic panoramic roof and a 10-speaker Bose sound system with headrest-integrated speakers.

Cargo space has increased to 20 cubic feet with the rear seats up, and 55.5 cubic feet when folded, enhanced by Nissan’s versatile Divide-N-Hide storage system.
Designed for global markets and tested in harsh environments like Quebec, the 2026 LEAF includes a new battery thermal management system, standard heat pump, and battery heater to optimize cold-weather performance. Safety is equally advanced, with all models equipped with Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist and Safety Shield® 360 suite.
Higher trims offer a 3D Around View Monitor with innovative perspectives like “Invisible Hood View,” enhancing low-speed maneuverability. Altogether, the all-new LEAF is a comprehensive update that brings meaningful improvements in range, comfort, and driver assistance—making it one of the most exciting EV crossovers to watch in 2026.
