Mazda has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the CX-6e, a mid-size battery-electric crossover introduced for the European market. The model follows the launch of the Mazda 6e sedan and represents another step in the company’s gradual transition toward full electrification outside North America.
The CX-6e made its European debut at the Brussels Motor Show 2026 after first being shown in China last year, where it is known as the EZ-60. The vehicle will be produced in China through Mazda’s joint venture with Changan Automobile and is based on the same underlying platform as the Changan Deepal S07. Mazda has applied its own exterior and interior design elements to differentiate the model from its Chinese counterpart.

Externally, the CX-6e features a clean design with smooth body surfaces and a closed front grille. Slim daytime running lights connected by a full-width LED light bar form the front lighting signature. At the rear, the sloping rear window and sculpted bodywork are consistent with design cues used on Mazda’s recent SUV models.
The CX-6e is equipped with a 78 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack, delivering a WLTP-rated range of up to 484 kilometres. This places the model in line with several mid-size electric crossovers currently sold in Europe. Charging capability includes DC fast charging of up to 195 kW, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in around 24 minutes under optimal conditions, as well as 11 kW AC charging support.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels by a single electric motor producing 190 kW of output and 214 lb-ft of torque. According to Mazda, the CX-6e can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 185 km/h.
Inside, the CX-6e adopts a minimalist interior layout, with most vehicle functions integrated into a wide 26-inch display spanning the center of the dashboard. The infotainment system supports voice control in multiple languages and includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The CX-6e is currently planned for European markets only. In the United States, Mazda continues to focus on plug-in hybrid vehicles, and there is no confirmed timeline for introducing the CX-6e or a similar battery-electric crossover. The company has indicated that its future electrification plans will vary by region, reflecting differences in market conditions and regulatory environments.
