Wireless charging company Electreon has signed a collaboration agreement with ATLoS, a Portugal-based autonomous vehicle (AV) manufacturer owned by ProCME Group, to integrate its technology into autonomous transport systems for industrial settings.
The partnership aims to combine wireless charging with autonomous driving in fixed-route environments such as warehouses, logistics hubs and manufacturing compounds. By embedding charging coils into the ground along routes or at loading docks, ATLoS’s AVs can recharge while moving or at rest, reducing downtime and eliminating the need for manual charging.
The initial project will see Electreon provide hardware, software and technical support to fit its charging system into an ATLoS vehicle operating at a customer site. Both companies said the pilot will serve as a demonstration ahead of potential large-scale deployments, including at a global manufacturer’s production facility.
“This collaboration is a significant step toward our mission of delivering sustainable and autonomous mobility solutions,” said José Reis Costa, chief executive of ProCME Group. Oren Ezer, chief executive of Electreon, added: “Autonomous charging is essential for achieving true vehicle autonomy. Together with ATLoS, we are offering a ‘set-and-forget’ solution that maximizes operational efficiency.”
Electreon has previously integrated its wireless charging systems with global automakers, while ATLoS specializes in autonomous vehicles for industrial applications. The companies said the agreement aligns with ProCME Group’s focus on clean energy and innovation, and could open opportunities in sectors including automotive, pharmaceuticals, ports and airports.
