EV leasing platform DRIVN has signed an agreement with listed logistics company AVG Logistics to deploy 100 electric trucks across India, with the first 30 vehicles scheduled to enter service in August.
The remaining 70 trucks will be introduced in several subsequent phases. The companies have not disclosed the truck models or specific routes for the deployment, saying the vehicles will support AVG Logistics’ operations across a range of commercial requirements.
Electric Trucks to Support Freight Operations
DRIVN focuses on leasing electric vehicles to heavy commercial fleets, while AVG Logistics operates freight and logistics services in India.
The agreement combines AVG’s logistics operations with DRIVN’s financing and leasing model. The companies are seeking to expand the use of electric trucks in commercial freight while reducing the upfront financial requirements associated with fleet electrification.
The deployment will take place in stages, with the initial 30 trucks scheduled to begin operations in August.
Leasing Model Targets Fleet Electrification
The agreement comes as logistics companies in India examine financing and leasing structures as alternatives to purchasing electric commercial vehicles outright.
For fleet operators, leasing can shift part of the upfront cost of electrification into an operating model. DRIVN’s business is focused on providing this type of financing and leasing structure for electric commercial fleets.
Alpna Jain, co-founder and Chief Business Officer of DRIVN, said the partnership is intended to address the practical requirements involved in deploying electric trucks at commercial scale.
“The next phase of electric freight will be defined not just by the availability of electric trucks, but by how effectively we can make them work for commercial fleets at scale,” said Alpna Jain, co-founder and Chief Business Officer of DRIVN.
Jain said the companies are working to align vehicle selection, financing structures and operational requirements to support the commercial use of electric trucks.
AVG Logistics Expands Electric Fleet Strategy
AVG Logistics said the agreement forms part of its efforts to introduce solutions aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of its freight operations.
“Our agreement with DRIVN to deploy 100 electric trucks reflects our focus on adopting solutions that can support more efficient and sustainable freight operations at scale,” said Vinayak Gupta, Chief Strategy Officer and ESG Head at AVG Logistics.
Gupta said AVG intends to combine its operational experience with DRIVN’s EV financing and leasing capabilities as it integrates electric trucks into its fleet.
The companies have not disclosed the specific vehicle specifications, deployment routes or timetable for the remaining 70 trucks.

Deployment to Take Place in Phases
The first 30 electric trucks are expected to enter service in August, followed by the remaining 70 vehicles through subsequent deployment phases.
The agreement represents DRIVN’s effort to expand electric heavy-duty freight deployments beyond individual fleet projects, while AVG Logistics will use the leasing arrangement as part of its approach to integrating electric trucks into commercial operations.
