DHL Expands EV Center of Excellence to Continental Europe, Opens First Facility in Italy

DHL Group has extended its Electric Vehicle (EV) Center of Excellence network to Continental Europe with the inauguration of its first facility in Pozzuolo Martesana, near Milan, Italy. This move underscores DHL’s commitment to supporting the automotive industry’s transition to electric mobility.

The DHL EV Center of Excellence in Pozzuolo Martesana is designed to streamline the sourcing, warehousing, and delivery of EV components, ensuring a swift and efficient transport process for both suppliers and buyers. The facility covers an area of approximately 10,000 square meters and is operated by DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express.

“Our EV Center of Excellence in Pozzuolo Martesana is strategically located to serve the growing demand for EV components in Continental Europe,” said Nazzarena Franco, CEO at DHL Express Italy. “By leveraging DHL’s global network and expertise in logistics, we aim to support companies in managing the challenges of the mobility transition effectively.”

The facility offers a range of services, including charging, testing, handling dealer service for warranty issues, replacement, and disassembly. It is staffed by teams trained to handle the specific requirements of the EV sector, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the facility features temperature and humidity-controlled rooms to maintain EV components at optimal conditions.

DHL’s EV Center of Excellence network provides specialized logistics services for fully assembled EVs and EV batteries. With the addition of the facility in Italy, DHL now operates similar centers in strategic locations around the world, including Shanghai (China), Dubai (UAE), Mexico City (Mexico), Batam (Indonesia), and Valley Cross (UK).
