Dacia, Renault’s low-cost automotive brand, is gearing up to expand its electric vehicle lineup, with a fully electric version of the Sandero expected by the end of 2027, according to CEO Denis Le Vot.
Currently, the Spring is the sole all-electric model in Daciaās portfolio, but the company aims to leverage its affordability to compete against an influx of Chinese EV manufacturers in Europe.
The Sandero, a compact supermini, has been a standout success, becoming Europeās best-selling car in 2024 with 309,392 units sold, a 14.5% increase from the previous year.
This achievement also marks the Sanderoās consistent popularity among private buyers, maintaining its title as Europeās top-selling car in the private sales market since 2017.
In 2024, Dacia sold 676,340 vehicles across Europe, reflecting a nearly 3% year-over-year growth and accounting for approximately 4% of total passenger car sales.
Since its inception in 2004, the brand has delivered over nine million vehicles, reinforcing its strong presence in the European market as it sets its sights on bolstering its EV offerings.
