China’s CATL has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Voyah, the new energy vehicle brand under Dongfeng Motor, extending their partnership for a further 10 years, the battery maker said.
The agreement was signed on Dec. 17 in Ningde, Fujian province, where CATL is headquartered. The signing was witnessed by Robin Zeng, chairman and chief executive of CATL, Feng Changjun, general manager of Dongfeng Motor, and Lu Fang, chairman of Voyah, according to the statement.

Under the deal, the two companies will deepen cooperation across areas including new technology applications, battery supply, brand co-building and overseas market development, aiming to support the NEV industry’s shift toward more high-end, intelligent and globalised products.
CATL said it will prioritise supplying Voyah with its latest battery technologies, including the Qilin Battery, Freevoy Battery and Shenxing Battery, for integration into Voyah’s vehicle models. The partners will also collaborate on battery swap systems, CATL’s Integrated Intelligent Chassis (CIIC) skateboard platform, the Bedrock Chassis, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies.

To ensure supply stability as Voyah scales production, CATL said it plans to establish battery manufacturing capacity close to Voyah’s vehicle plants. The two companies also said they will work together to strengthen brand innovation and expand their presence in overseas markets, targeting the global premium NEV segment.
CATL and Voyah have cooperated closely since 2021, when Voyah delivered its first mass-produced vehicle and entered into a battery supply and research partnership with the battery maker. In 2023, the companies signed a strategic agreement covering fast charging, battery safety and big data collaboration. CATL is currently the core battery supplier across Voyah’s entire model lineup.
