Voyah, the new energy vehicle brand under Dongfeng Motor, has introduced the Taishan, expanding its presence in China’s competitive large hybrid SUV market. The model arrives with a starting price of RMB 379,900 ($53,420), positioning it against vehicles such as the Aito M9, Zeekr 9X and BYD Denza N9.
The Taishan is offered in three trims—Max, Max+ and Ultra—priced between RMB 379,900 and RMB 459,900. Voyah also plans to release a limited-edition Black Knight version in the first quarter of 2026 for RMB 509,900. Shortly after the launch, the company reported that the model received more than 10,000 firm orders within its first 21 minutes, according to a post on its official Weibo account.
The six-seat SUV measures 5,230 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width and 1,817 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm and curb weight of around 2.8 tonnes.
Built on Huawei’s 800-volt high-voltage architecture, the vehicle incorporates Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4 driver-assistance platform and the HarmonySpace 5 cockpit system. Its sensor suite includes four LiDAR units, making it the second model in the Chinese market—after the updated Aito M9—to adopt a four-LiDAR configuration.
Power is provided by a 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 110 kW, paired with dual electric motors delivering peak outputs of 150 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear. Depending on configuration, the Taishan accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.2 or 5.5 seconds.
A 65-kWh ternary lithium battery pack is standard, giving a CLTC range of 350 km. With both fuel and battery fully replenished, the vehicle’s total CLTC range reaches 1,430 km. The model supports 5C fast charging, enabling a charge from 20% to 80% in roughly 12 minutes.
Voyah’s lineup currently includes the Free SUV, Zhiyin SUV, Dream MPV and Zhuiguang sedan. At the event, the company confirmed it will launch the Zhuiguang L sedan in December following its unveiling and pre-order opening in late September.
