CALB expects net profit for the six months ended June 30, 2026, to be approximately RMB1.506 billion to RMB1.581 billion, an increase of about 100% to 110% from approximately RMB753 million in the same period a year earlier.
The company said the expected year-on-year increase was mainly related to an expanding customer base and new application scenarios, as well as higher volumes of new products for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and energy storage.
Power Battery Business Expands Customer Base
CALB said its power battery customer base continued to expand during the first half of 2026, while several products increased their market adoption.
In passenger vehicles, the company said its 5C ultra-fast charging and high-power batteries continued to ramp up. CALB supplies battery cells for the XPeng GX series and LFP batteries for the MONA L03, and is the sole battery cell supplier for the XPeng G9L.
Its 5C ultra-fast charging batteries have also been adopted in the new XPeng P7 Long Range and other models, according to the company.
CALB also reported continued cooperation with other automotive customers. It is a co-development partner for Huawei’s Giant Whale Battery Platform, with its products deployed in several HIMA vehicle models, including Luxeed and SAIC.
The company has also entered the supply chain for Xiaomi Auto’s SkyNomad series. CALB said the Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 and N70 Max use its 76kWh ternary lithium-ion batteries and are scheduled to enter mass production and delivery.
Energy Storage Battery Business Grows
CALB’s energy storage business also recorded growth during the reporting period, with the company citing increased adoption of its products among domestic and international customers.
Its energy storage portfolio includes the 314Ah Gen2 cell and ZHIJIU cells with capacities of 392Ah, 588Ah and more than 600Ah. The company also supplies 6.25MWh and 6.9MWh containerized energy storage systems.
CALB said these products have been adopted by customers based on characteristics including energy efficiency, cycle life and reported zero degradation during the first 1,000 cycles.
The company continued cooperation with energy storage integrators including Sungrow and Huawei and advanced projects with developers such as SPIC and China Three Gorges Renewables.
Overseas Energy Storage Activity Expands
CALB said it has been added to supplier lists for additional energy storage customers in South Africa, Latin America, the United States and Israel.
The company also reported new project awards and deliveries in overseas markets during the first half of 2026.
The expansion comes as the global energy storage market continues to increase in scale. Data from the TrendForce Global Energy Storage Supply Chain Database showed that global energy storage cell shipments exceeded 460 GWh in the first half, up approximately 94% year on year.
CALB’s energy storage cell shipments exceeded 30 GWh during the period. According to the TrendForce data cited by the company, CALB ranked fifth globally in both total energy storage cell shipments and utility-scale energy storage cell shipments, including commercial and industrial applications.
Financial Forecast Remains Preliminary
CALB said the profit figures in its interim results forecast are based on preliminary calculations and have not been audited.
The final results will be disclosed in the company’s interim report, which CALB expects to publish by the end of August.
The forecast provides an initial indication of the company’s first-half performance, with the final financial figures subject to the company’s subsequent interim disclosure.
