BYD will officially launch the 2026 Seal 07 DM-i plug-in hybrid sedan on September 15, local media outlet Yiche reported on Monday. The automaker has not yet confirmed the date through its official channels.
The model, first unveiled at the Chengdu auto show last month, introduces new features including an additional LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof, BYD’s DiSus-C body control system, and the company’s God’s Eye B smart driving system.
At 4,995 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,495 mm high with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, the 2026 Seal 07 DM-i is slightly larger than its current version. The outgoing model measures 4,980 mm in length and 1,890 mm in width, while keeping the same height and wheelbase.
The updated lineup offers two 1.5L engine options with maximum outputs of 74 kW and 115 kW. Buyers can also choose between two electric motors producing 160 kW or 200 kW. The vehicle continues to offer two CLTC-rated all-electric ranges – 70 km and 125 km – depending on the configuration.
BYD first launched the Seal 07 DM-i on August 8, 2024, positioning it as its first mid-to-large sedan with fifth-generation DM (Dual Mode) technology designed to cut fuel consumption. The current lineup includes five variants, priced between RMB 139,800 ($19,600) and RMB 195,800.
