Vehicle orders at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show reached 77,379 units during the 14-day event, a 41.63% increase from the previous year, according to official figures released by the event’s organizers.
BYD and its premium sub-brand Denza led the rankings with a combined total of 10,353 orders (BYD: 9,819 units; Denza: 534 units), followed by Toyota with 9,819 orders. Chinese automakers accounted for nearly half of the top 15 brands by order volume, with seven brands making the list.

GAC Aion ranked third with 7,018 orders, Changan’s Deepal followed in fourth with 6,589, and Great Wall Motor (GWM) secured seventh place with 4,959 orders. Organizers noted that this year’s show marked the first time three Chinese brands entered the top five.
BYD’s compact all-electric hatchback, the Dolphin, emerged as its best-selling model, garnering 4,014 orders. Originally launched in Thailand in 2023, the Dolphin is offered in two powertrain configurations. The entry variant features a 70 kW motor and 50.25 kWh Blade Battery, providing a range of up to 410 km under the NEDC standard.

A higher-spec version includes a 150 kW motor and 60.48 kWh battery, extending the range to 490 km. During the motor show, BYD offered promotional prices ranging from 499,900 to 599,900 Thai baht ($14,655 to $17,585), down from the original retail price of up to 709,900 baht ($20,820).
Another high-performing Chinese EV was the Aion UT, a compact urban hatchback from GAC Aion. Priced between 490,000 and 510,000 baht ($14,580–$15,180), the Aion UT received 4,568 orders.

The model features a base variant with a 100 kW motor and 50 kWh battery, while the higher trim offers 152 kW of power and a 60 kWh battery. It measures 4,270 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, positioning it in a similar segment to the BYD Dolphin.
The surge in EV orders highlights growing consumer interest in electric mobility in Thailand, driven in part by competitive pricing and government incentives, as well as increased visibility of Chinese brands in the local market.
