IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) arm of SAIC Motor Corp, has officially launched its LS6 electric SUV in Thailand, marking the company’s first step into overseas markets.
Rebranded as the IM6 for the Thai market, the SUV was unveiled at an event in Bangkok on March 18, IM Motors announced on Friday.

The model comes in two variants: the Premium version, priced at 1,399,900 baht ($41,600) with a 75-kWh battery and a 550-km range, and the Performance version, priced at 1,799,900 baht, equipped with a 100-kWh battery and a 634-km range.
The IM6 is competitively priced against Xpeng’s G6 SUV in Thailand and positioned below Tesla’s Model Y. The model was first introduced in China on October 12, 2023, with an updated version launched on September 26, 2024. IM Motors currently sells five LS6 variants in China, starting at RMB 239,900 ($33,170).

The company shipped its first batch of LS6 SUVs to Thailand on February 24. Looking ahead, IM Motors plans to expand its international presence using the LS6 and L6 electric sedan as key models, targeting markets including Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Northern Europe, and the Middle East.
