Nio is preparing to launch the third-generation version of its flagship ES8 SUV and the L80 SUV under its sub-brand Onvo in the fourth quarter of 2025, as part of a broader product strategy unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai auto show.
The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer is on track to introduce a new model in each quarter of the year, expanding its lineup to nine models by the end of 2025. The roadmap includes both new entries and facelifts to existing models across its Nio and Onvo brands.

Among the upcoming additions are the Nio ET9 flagship sedan, which began deliveries in March, and the compact Firefly model, which went on sale earlier this month. Onvo, Nio’s mass-market brand, is also expected to add the L90 flagship SUV in the near term, alongside the L80. Facelifted versions of Nio’s ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6 are also planned.
Nio’s current lineup includes nine models: ET9, ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5, and ET5 Touring. The ES8, first introduced in 2017 and updated to the NT 2.0 platform in 2022, will receive its latest upgrade this year.

Onvo entered the market with the L60, a five-seat mid-size SUV, in September 2024. The brand is expected to further expand in 2025 with two family-oriented SUVs, including a mid-to-large-size 6/7-seat SUV and a large five-seat SUV, according to the company’s previously outlined plans.
The steady rollout highlights Nio’s continued focus on product diversification and market segmentation, as it seeks to strengthen its position in both the premium and mainstream EV segments.
