BYD has introduced the third-generation version of its BYD Atto 3 in China, where the model is sold under the Yuan Plus name, featuring upgraded charging technology and a revised electric vehicle platform.
The updated model starts at 119,900 yuan ($16,500), equivalent to around 15,200 euros, with prices ranging up to 149,900 yuan across four variants.
BYD first introduced the revised vehicle at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2026 before officially unveiling the production model this week.
The company said the new Atto 3 transitions from BYD’s earlier e-Platform 3.0 architecture to the upgraded e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform.
The updated platform continues to use BYD’s lithium iron phosphate Blade Battery technology while introducing a higher level of drivetrain integration and improved charging performance.
BYD said it replaced the previous 8-in-1 drive system with a new 12-in-1 integrated drive unit that incorporates four additional functions.
The revised compact SUV now comes standard with second-generation Blade Battery technology and supports BYD’s Flash Charging system, allowing battery charging from 10% to 70% in around five minutes.
The new Atto 3 is available with rear-wheel drive and power outputs of either 200 kilowatts or 240 kilowatts.
Battery capacity options include 57.5-kWh and 68.5-kWh packs, providing CLTC driving ranges of up to 540 kilometers or 630 kilometers depending on configuration.
The updated vehicle has also grown in size compared with the previous generation and now measures 4.67 meters long, 1.90 meters wide and 1.68 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.77 meters.
Customers purchasing all but the entry-level variant can optionally equip the vehicle with BYD’s “God’s Eye B” advanced driver-assistance system featuring LiDAR technology for an additional 12,000 yuan.
The updated Atto 3 lineup also includes BYD’s DiSus-C intelligent damping system, the latest DiLink infotainment system, a larger central display, a head-up display and a new two-spoke steering wheel design.
Exterior styling continues to follow BYD’s Dragon Face design language, with slimmer headlights, retractable door handles and a full-width rear light bar.
BYD said the vehicle will be available in nine paint finishes, including two-tone color options.
