BYD has recently provided a glimpse of its upcoming Song L model, which originally made its debut as a concept vehicle at the Shanghai Auto Show held in April.
Revealing a series of exterior images on Weibo, BYD announced that the Song L will fall under the category of a B-class flagship shooting brake SUV. Diverging from the conventional SUV design, the Song L boasts a distinctive, coupe-like appearance with a lower body, as illustrated in the shared images.
During its initial introduction at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 18, BYD emphasized that the Song L harmonizes the company’s pioneering technology, catering to the preferences of youthful consumers seeking an amalgamation of style and sportiness in their vehicles.

The vehicle’s aesthetic design breaks away from tradition, epitomizing the fresh outlook of a new generation of the Dynasty product range, as highlighted during its unveiling.
Built upon BYD’s advanced e-Platform 3.0, the Song L will incorporate CTB (cell to body) technology and intelligent electric four-wheel drive, as previously disclosed by the automaker.
This new addition to the Song family will augment the offerings within BYD’s expansive Dynasty lineup, holding the potential to invigorate sales across the family’s diverse models.
Among BYD’s brand portfolio, the Dynasty and Ocean series stand out. The Song family of models encompasses vehicles such as the Song Pro DM-i, Song Max DM-i from the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i from the Ocean series.

July proved to be a noteworthy month for BYD, as the company recorded a remarkable achievement of selling 262,161 new energy vehicles (NEVs). This number includes an impressive 261,105 passenger cars, alongside 1,056 commercial vehicles.
Within the Dynasty range, the Song models exhibited a strong performance, with 18,800 units sold in July. This figure reflects a substantial growth of 14.26 percent compared to the preceding month of June.
The Ocean series of Song models also experienced a surge in sales, reaching 32,458 units in July. This remarkable figure represents a notable increase of 25.15 percent from the sales figures of June.
