Although known as a commercial vehicle manufacturer, they also have passenger car products. BYD recently showcased its new car candidate, the Song MAX DM-i model 2022. This model is a plug-in hybrid MPV (PHEV) which will be sold this year as well.

While BYD is known as a pure electric vehicle manufacturer, they also make other types. Like the Song MAX DM-i, a PHEV-powered medium MPV is slated to arrive this year. Although for now they have only introduced the model in the form of rendering.

This model has a design that is quite elegant and modern, complete with a roof box that is designed to follow the curve of the roof of the car. The rear design is also quite good, with the taillights being blended in by the chrome line accents. Unfortunately for now the interior is not displayed by BYD, maybe later it will be shown when the launch arrives. For its features, they promise a lot of advanced and modern features.

As a PHEV car, the Song MAX DM-i combines a 1,500 cc gasoline engine that can produce 81 kW of power, with a 145 kW electric motor. Because it relies on these two parts, this MPV only consumes 0.9 liters of gasoline per 100 km. Moreover, coupled with a roof box, making this model can be taken when traveling long distances.

BYD will start selling Song MAX DM-i in the first quarter of this year in Bamboo Curtain Country. I don’t know if they will also bring it to Indonesia, considering that the MPV car market is growing rapidly lately.
