BYD and Castrosua are collaborating to build electric buses that will pave the way in Spain. This collaboration is carried out to produce electric buses with a length of 12 meters that are adapted and of course environmentally friendly.
The 12-meter BYD-Castrosua eBuses will be built on a BYD chassis with an electric powertrain and incorporate a Castrosua NELEC body to provide Spanish customers with a high-caliber electric transport solution.
The strategic partnership between BYD and Castrosua is committed to producing tailor-made products that meet the demands of the Spanish market through an agreement framework for the development, manufacture and sale of electric buses, initially focusing on Class I and Class II buses for urban and commuter use.
The agreement will also jointly offer high quality and effective after-sales service, with professional and oriented technical support from both parties, as well as spare parts supply.
BYD’s European Vice President of Sales for eBus, Javier Contijoch said that it is a great honor for BYD to bring world-leading technology to Spain and start a partnership with Castrosua.
“We really value our local partnership and it is very important that the custom made electric buses will be produced locally in Spain, for Spanish customers. Together we are ready to expand our fleet of zero-emission electric buses to provide a cleaner environment for the Spanish people.”
BYD strongly believes, said Javier, in the benefits of this collaboration to accelerate the transition to electrification, and welcomes the opportunity to partner with other leading European bus body specialists.
