Canadian electric mobility company Beachman has launched the ’64 E-Bike, a new electric two-wheeler that combines the classic aesthetic of 1960s cafe racer motorcycles with modern performance and technology. Designed for both urban commuting and recreational riding, the e-bike aims to offer a balance of style, performance, and accessibility.
The ’64 E-Bike is available in three riding modes: E-Bike Mode with a top speed of 20 mph for bike lane use, Moped Mode reaching 30 mph for commuting, and Off-Road Mode, which unlocks a maximum speed of 45 mph. The base model includes a 2.88 kWh lithium battery offering a range of up to 55 miles, with an optional 3.6 kWh battery extending the range to 70 miles. Regenerative braking and fast charging—up to 80% in three hours—are also included.
“The ’64 is designed to make every ride enjoyable,” said Ben Taylor, Co-Founder and CEO of Beachman. “We wanted to capture the spirit of classic motorcycling while bringing in modern convenience for today’s riders.”
In contrast to e-bikes that require apps or connectivity, the ’64 E-Bike emphasizes simplicity with intuitive controls and a streamlined user experience. Its legal classification as a moped enables higher unlocked speeds, offering flexibility for different rider needs. The design features retro-inspired styling, performance-oriented frame geometry, and customizable options, with a starting price of $4,800.
Beachman says the ’64 is aimed at those looking for a comfortable, fast, and stylish alternative to traditional commuting or weekend leisure rides, bridging the gap between e-bikes and motorcycles.
