Avatr Technology, the electric vehicle (EV) brand backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, officially launched the limited-edition Avatr 012, following pre-sales that began in August last year. The high-end four-seater EV, based on the Avatr 12 sedan, is limited to just 700 units worldwide.
Priced at RMB 700,000 ($96,420), the Avatr 012 sits well above the standard Avatr 12, which starts at RMB 269,900. Designed by Avatr’s chief design officer Nader Faghihzadeh in collaboration with Kim Jones, artistic director at Dior and Fendi, the model targets a luxury-focused clientele with custom paintwork, premium interiors, and unique design elements.

The Avatr 012 is powered by Huawei’s DriveONE dual-motor system, delivering a total output of 402 kW. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h.
It features a CATL Qilin Battery with 93.4 kWh capacity, supporting 5C fast chargingāallowing an 80% charge in just 10 minutesāand offering a CLTC range of 650 km. Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 driver assistance system is also included, enabling advanced autonomous driving functions.

Avatr, originally established as Changan Nio in 2018, underwent a transformation in 2021 when Changan, CATL, and Huawei rebranded the company under the CHN architecture. The Avatr 012 marks the brand’s second limited-edition model, following the Avatr 011 SUV launched in 2022.
