Officials in Ljubljana have signed a 20-year agreement with mobility provider Avant Car to roll out a public electric vehicle rental and car-sharing service, expanding on a previous pilot programme. Electric company fleets are becoming increasingly common across Europe, with more than half of businesses planning to expand their battery-electric vehicle (BEV) adoption within the next two years, according to a new study by DKV Mobility. UK-based logistics provider Maritime Transport said it has deployed 19 battery-electric trucks at its Wakefield and Birmingham sites, as part of plans to expand its fleet to 56 vehicles across 13 depots and rail terminals by the end of the year. The newly delivered units include models from Volvo Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and DAF Trucks. The Arval Mobility Observatory has reported that fleet managers in Germany expect stable development in vehicle fleets over the coming years, alongside continued growth in electric vehicle adoption, according to its latest Fleet and Mobility Barometer. The study, based on a global survey of 10,157 decision-makers across 33 countries—including 300 in Germany—found that 92% of German companies anticipate stable or increasing fleet sizes over the next three years. UK-based energy and fleet electrification specialist Zenobē has acquired U.S. fleet electrification provider Revolv from GDEV Management, marking its entry into the North American commercial fleet and truck market. The Petit Forestier Group has secured a €150 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to accelerate the electrification of its refrigerated transport fleet across Europe. The France-based rental specialist plans to use the funding to acquire approximately 4,000 battery-electric refrigerated vehicles by 2029, primarily for deployment in France, Italy and Spain. Orion Energy Systems said it will install 104 direct-current fast-charging stations and associated infrastructure for the Boston Public Schools system, marking a major expansion of electric vehicle charging capacity for one of the largest school districts in the United States. Public transport operator Arriva said it will deploy 167 new battery-electric buses in the Dutch region of East Brabant from December 2026, as part of a long-term concession extension aimed at expanding zero-emission public transport.
