Canada Post has announced their electrification plans. Canada Post targets to convert their fleet of 14,000 vehicles to all-electric vehicles by 2040. Half of their delivery fleet should be electric by 2030. Canada Post is currently piloting several electric and emission-free vehicles that are projected to make up its fleet. One of the piloted vehicles is a delivery vehicle for urban areas with a top speed of 40 km/hour. The vehicle will be piloted for city delivery for one year. Tesla Inc has partnered with Samsung Electro-Mechanics to install camera sensors in self-driving systems in Tesla electric cars. Samsung has set aside 5 trillion won or US$4 billion to supply 80 percent of the camera sensors integrated into Tesla’s self-driving electric vehicle systems such as the Model S, Model Y, Model X and Model 3. Last year Hyundai showcased its autonomous Level 4 self-driving Ioniq 5 and now Hyundai is piloting an autonomous rideshare service called “RoboRide” in Gangnam district, Seoul, South Korea.
