Ford Motor is reportedly considering discontinuing its F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, amid declining demand for electric vehicles and ongoing production disruptions in the United States. Citroen’s new e-C5 Aircross Long Range has officially qualified for the UK’s full £3,750 Electric Car Grant (ECG), becoming the third model and second manufacturer to reach the top subsidy level under the government’s zero-emission vehicle initiative. Europe’s truck market weakened through the first nine months of 2025, while bus demand showed signs of recovery, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). Electric models continued to expand their footprint, led by Switzerland in battery-electric truck adoption and Germany in electric bus registrations. ACEA data showed total truck registrations across the European Union fell 9.8% year-on-year between January and September, while bus registrations rose 3.6%. Renault has unveiled the new Twingo E-Tech Electric, a compact city car aimed at offering a fully electric option under €20,000 while avoiding the compromises typical of budget models. Chrysler has announced a recall of more than 320,000 Jeep plug-in hybrid vehicles in the United States due to a potential fire hazard associated with defective high-voltage batteries. The automaker has urged owners to park their vehicles outdoors and refrain from charging them until a repair is available. The recall affects 320,065 plug-in hybrid models, including 228,221 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles from model years 2020 to 2025 and 91,844 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles from model years 2022 to 2026. Rivian Automotive reported a wider net loss for the third quarter of 2025, as the U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer continues to pour resources into its next-generation R2 platform, production expansion, and autonomous driving development. German utility EnBW will lower prices for electric vehicle charging at its mobility+ network from December, the company said on Wednesday, as part of wider reductions in electricity, gas, and heating costs. The changes will reduce the S and M charging tariffs by three cents per kilowatt hour, while the top-tier L tariff will see a reduction in its monthly base fee. The E|MPOWER project has completed the construction phase of Germany’s first motorway test track for dynamic inductive charging of electric vehicles (EVs) on the A6 near Amberg. The section between Amberg-West and Sulzbach-Rosenberg, just under one kilometre long, is now entering its test phase.
