Lyft has completed 100 million electric vehicle (EV) rides across its North American platform, achieving the milestone several months ahead of its 2025 goal. The company said the result reflects the continued expansion of its EV initiatives and increasing participation from drivers in electrification programs. Lyft reported that more than 44,000 drivers have taken part in its EV programs, which include charging discounts, bonuses, and home-charging support. In 2024, drivers collectively saved about $2 million in charging costs and earned approximately $24.3 million in EV bonuses in California, where EV adoption among Lyft drivers is highest. Tesla’s long-hyped Cybertruck is losing its spark in the U.S. market, with sales plunging sharply in the third quarter of 2025 despite booming demand for electric vehicles overall. Onvo, a sub-brand of Nio, has reached the milestone of delivering its 100,000th vehicle, just three days after producing its 100,000th car. The milestone delivery took place in Shantou, Guangdong, marking about one year since Onvo began customer deliveries. Based on cumulative figures, Onvo has delivered at least 9,721 vehicles so far this month, bringing its total to 100,000 units from 90,279 at the end of September. Europe must devote as much attention to developing self-driving technology as it does to electric vehicles if it wants to remain competitive in the next decade, Markus Villig, CEO of Estonian ride-hailing and food delivery company Bolt.
