AUMOVIO, the newly independent mobility technology company spun off from Continental, said it will invest $110 million to expand its manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas, to support rising demand for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) across North America.

The project, slated for completion by August 2027, will add 65,000 square feet of production space and an automated warehouse, effectively doubling the plant’s footprint. The investment is expected to create 100 new jobs and enhance AUMOVIO’s production capacity for radar and autonomous driving technologies.

“This expansion is a testament to our team’s hard work and commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” said Ibro Muharemovic, Head of Autonomous Mobility North America at AUMOVIO. “This has been a key part of our long-term planning, and we’re eager to see it come to fruition.”

Opened in 2022, the New Braunfels plant is AUMOVIO’s first U.S. greenfield site dedicated to autonomous mobility. It produces radar systems that support advanced safety and driver assistance features, including components used in the Aurora Driver platform developed with Aurora Innovation.

Earlier this year, AUMOVIO secured a €1.5 billion ($1.5 billion) radar sensor order from North American automakers. The expanded Texas site will play a key role in fulfilling that contract and scaling production for future programs.

“We are proud of the roots we’ve planted here,” said Brandon Lane, Plant Manager. “Since opening our original facility, we’ve employed nearly 500 people and produced about 13 million radar units—a significant contribution to both our local economy and the global automotive industry.”

Headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, AUMOVIO operates in more than 100 locations worldwide, employing around 86,000 people and generating €19.6 billion ($21 billion) in revenue in 2024. The company develops technologies spanning sensor solutions, braking systems, displays, and software-defined vehicle architectures, advancing its mission to make mobility safer, connected, and increasingly autonomous.
