Audi is rolling out a broad package of hardware and software updates across its Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) vehicle lineups as part of its latest model-year change, with improvements aimed at efficiency, driving dynamics and digital features, the company said.
The updates apply to Audi’s PPE-based electric vehicles — the Q6 e-tron SUV and Sportback, as well as the A6 e-tron sedan and Avant estate — which were co-developed with Porsche. Audi said the electric models will become more efficient following the update, although it did not publish new consumption or driving range figures and said no new WLTP certification is planned, indicating that gains are incremental.

Audi detailed changes to the regenerative braking system, which now allows vehicles to decelerate to a standstill without engaging conventional friction brakes. “This makes stopping particularly smooth and even more comfortable,” Audi said. “The additional kinetic energy recovered is used for energy regeneration, improving efficiency and range.” The company did not quantify the efficiency gains.
The S6 e-tron performance variant gains a new ‘Dynamic Plus’ driving mode, designed to deliver sportier handling. The model uses electric quattro all-wheel drive with brake torque vectoring, while the electronic stability control automatically shifts to Sport mode to allow controlled oversteer. Audi said the drivetrain now responds “with particular precision to accelerator pedal inputs.”

Driving modes continue to be managed through the ‘Audi drive select’ system, which now includes a new ‘Audi drive select assistant’ feature. Audi said this function automatically adapts the selected driving mode based on individual driving style and road conditions when activated.
The updates also extend to Audi’s PPC-based models — the A5, A6 and Q5 — with refinements to the adaptive driving assistant. The system now supports automated lane changes on motorways after the driver activates the indicator. Traffic sign recognition has been updated, and ‘park assist pro’ is now optionally available.

New interior “experience modes” combine lighting, sound, massage functions and climate control to create either relaxing or invigorating cabin environments. Audi also upgraded its in-car gaming system to support Bluetooth game controllers and wireless headphones, allowing passengers to play without disturbing others.
Audi said PPE models with the extended functions will be available to order from early December, while updated PPC models will open for orders from the end of November.
