A New York-based leasing firm, American Lease, stands to clinch a substantial deal amidst Fisker’s bankruptcy proceedings, according to recent filings. Fisker plans to sell its entire inventory of 3,231 Fisker Ocean units to American Lease for up to $46.25 million.

American Lease specializes in leasing vehicles to ride-share users, and the deal offers a wide pricing range per unit, from $2,500 to $16,500. This variance reflects the conditions of the vehicles, including damage and prior ownership, as reported by Car and Driver.

Fisker’s filing details pricing tiers: vehicles with a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) and in good working order are priced at $16,500 each, whereas damaged units are at the lower end, and those with prior titles slightly higher.

Despite the potential bargain, negotiations continue on the final acquisition price, capped at $46.25 million, a significant markdown from the original market prices ranging up to $70,000 before bankruptcy.

The deal, however, poses risks for American Lease, as Fisker will not be liable for repairs or software updates beyond V2.1, nor honor warranties for the vehicles post-acquisition. Fisker commits to providing necessary software elements to maintain vehicle operability.
