All TransJakarta fleet use electric bus by 2030

The Jakarta Provincial Government targets that by 2030 TransJakarta will operate electric buses for its entire fleet. The news was conveyed directly by the Head of the Jakarta Transportation Service, Syafrin Liputo.

“Jakarta has determined that in 2030 it will be assigned to PT Transjakarta so that it can gradually refresh all fossil vehicles into electricity,” said Syafrin Liputo, in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/6).

Until now, there are only 30 units of electric buses operating in the capital city. The target for the end of 2022 is 100 units of electric buses belonging to TransJakarta.

In achieving this number, the company is preparing supporting infrastructure for electric buses, one of which is charging stations. The place to charge the battery is already there at some point.

If you already use electric power, buses with fossil fuels will gradually be replaced, in line with the rules for the age limit for public transportation services in Jakarta, which reaches 10 years.
