Volvo has unveiled the all-new XC70 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), built on the company’s new Scalable Modular Architecture (SMA) platform.
The crossover will be offered in two trims, with prices starting at 299,900 yuan ($41,900) for the two-wheel drive long-range variant and 329,900 yuan ($46,100) for the four-wheel drive ultra-long-range model.
The XC70 is available in seven exterior colors, including white, black, two shades of gray, brown, blue, and green. The vehicle measures 4,815 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,650 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,895 mm.

Volvo retains its signature “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights at the front, while the rear features the brand’s Viking Axe taillights with the “Volvo Asia Pacific” logo positioned under the right taillight.
Powering the XC70 is a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with three electric motors (P1, P2, and P4), connected via a 3DHT transmission. The engine delivers 120 kW (161 hp) and 255 Nm of torque.
The P1, P2, and P4 electric motors contribute 60 kW (80 hp), 107 kW (143 hp), and 156 kW (209 hp) respectively. The four-wheel drive variant features a 39.6 kWh ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL, enabling a CLTC pure electric range of 180 km and a total range of 1,200 km.
It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds, with a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.55 liters per 100 km. The two-wheel drive model carries a 21.22 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with a 100 km electric range and 5.85 L/100km WLTC fuel consumption.

The XC70’s interior is equipped with a 15.4-inch central control screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, and a 92-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD).
Other features include 23 Harman Kardon speakers, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting, and seven airbags. Advanced driver assistance is supported by 24 sensors, offering parking assist and 21 navigation-on-automation (NOA) functions for speeds up to 150 km/h.
