Alfa Romeo has had a bumpy road to recovery, but the Italian carmaker is showing signs of newfound confidence as it starts 2022 on a high note. The brand has reported a 22% increase in registrations across Europe, with France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, Greece, and Portugal all showing increased demand. The company attributes much of this success to the Tonale, a compact SUV that marked the beginning of Alfa Romeo’s “metamorphosis.”
This transformation will continue with Alfa Romeo’s commitment to electrification, culminating in a zero-emission range by 2027. The brand’s CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato, has promised that the upcoming next-generation Giulia will be one of the first electric models in Alfa Romeo’s range, set to arrive around 2025.

According to Autocar, the entry-level model is expected to have around 345 horsepower, with a Veloce variant packing 790 horsepower, and the Quadrifolio model boasting nearly 1,000 horsepower. Imparato also claimed that the Giulia could have a WLTP range of up to 435 miles.
Imparato also revealed that an entry-level, sub-compact crossover called the Brennero will launch next year with hybrid and electric powertrains, followed by more electric models in 2025 and 2026. The next Stelvio will also be electrified, although it’s not yet clear which model will arrive first.
Beyond the impressive next-generation models, Alfa Romeo is gearing up to release a new supercar called the 6C, which is expected to debut this summer. Imparato stated that the car is nearly sold out, indicating that Alfa Romeo’s future looks bright.
