Acura has unveiled its latest offerings, the 2024 ZDX A-Spec and ZDX Type S, marking the brand’s entry into the EV market. These models come with a 313-mile EPA range rating, DC Fast Charging capability, and a range of charging solutions.
The ZDX Type S is highlighted as the most powerful Acura to date, featuring a performance-tuned dual-motor AWD powertrain delivering nearly 500 maximum horsepower and 544 lb.-ft. of torque. Both the ZDX A-Spec and ZDX Type S qualify for the Federal $7,500 EV Tax Credit, providing a potential incentive for buyers.
Acura has focused on ensuring convenient recharging with DC Fast Charging at rates up to 190 kW, allowing the ZDX A-Spec rear-wheel drive model’s 102-kWh lithium-ion battery pack to gain an estimated 81 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes.
To enhance the charging experience, Acura offers comprehensive charging solutions at home and on the road, including access to major public fast-charging networks like Tesla Supercharger stations, EVgo, Electrify America, and their roaming partners. The ZDX comes equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port and is compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
Acura is also providing access to the new IONNA charging network, set to open its first stations in the United States in 2024. IONNA, a joint venture of seven automakers, aims to establish a minimum of 30,000 high-powered charging stations strategically located throughout North America.
Customers buying or leasing a new Acura ZDX or ZDX Type S can select from three charging packages included in the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). These packages offer a combination of public charging credits, charging equipment, and an installation credit to suit individual lifestyles. The installation credit can be redeemed through the Acura Home Electrification (AHE) marketplace, providing access to a network of local installers and support from Energy Advisors.
The new Acura EV mobile app enhances the ownership experience, allowing ZDX owners to find available charging stations, pay for charging, redeem credits, enroll in subscription plans, and access features at EVgo, Electrify America stations, and their roaming partners.
