Milence, a joint venture of Daimler Truck, Traton Group, and Volvo Group, has announced plans for its first truck charging hub in Spain. The facility, set to open in 2025, will be located at the Zaragoza Logistics Platform (PlaZa) in Aragon, marking Spain as the eighth market in which Milence operates.
Strategically situated near the A2 motorway and Zaragoza airport, the hub will be accessible from key transport routes and connected to two major TEN-T corridors: the Mediterranean corridor linking Spain to Eastern Europe and the Atlantic corridor facilitating access to Northern Europe.
The development aligns with Milence’s goal of establishing 70 charging hubs across Europe, offering a total of 570 charging points by the end of 2025.
The Zaragoza hub will be developed in two phases, initially offering CCS chargers, with plans to later include Megawatt Charging System (MCS) bays. Milence CEO Anja van Niersen highlighted the importance of the location, stating, “Zaragoza’s significance as a logistics hub makes it an ideal choice for our continued investment in Europe’s largest public charging network.”
To meet its ambitious targets, Milence will need to open a new charging park every six days on average through 2025. The company plans to collaborate with partners, including the Government of Aragon, to accelerate the rollout of its infrastructure and support the growing demand for electric truck charging solutions in Europe.
