Audi officially launched Charging hub with a different concept. If in general the Charging hub comes with a simple design and concept like a gas station, this time Audi is carrying a Charging hub that is as comfortable as being in a luxury lounge.
Audi has big plans by introducing more than 20 electric cars by 2025. Not only multiplying its EV vehicle models, Audi also pays attention to adequate infrastructure such as a charging hub that supports its consumers.
Audi now has a luxurious and convenient Charging hub. So, car owners can relax while waiting for their vehicle to be fully charged.
Audi calls the Charging hub the Audi Charging Hub. The location itself is in Nuremberg, Germany, and is Audi’s first Charging hub that offers an exclusive lounge and various other facilities.
Initially, this Charging hub facility was announced by Audi last May. But at that time Audi only displayed a concept design, but now the German manufacturer has officially opened it.
The Audi Charging Hub was only opened to the public on December 23, 2021. Consumers who want to charge their car at Audi’s Charging Hub can make a reservation for a charging place through the myAudi application. If so, the owner just needs to come to the Charging hub and charge the battery, after that consumers can enjoy various luxurious facilities in the executive lounge at the top.
With a lounge area of āāup to 200 square meters, there are plenty of comfortable seats and plugs so visitors can work while waiting for the car’s battery to be full. If you want to relax, there is a terrace with a 98-inch screen that can display various information about the electric car that is being charged.
If consumers are hungry and thirsty, there are also vending machines that sell various snacks and coffee machines. The Audi Charging Hub also has battery exchange facilities for electric bicycles, electric scooter rental services, as well as test drives for the Q4 e-tron and RS e-tron GT.
Not only does it offer luxurious and comfortable facilities, the Audi Charging hub is also capable of storing energy up to 2.45 Mwh by having 6 charging stations with a maximum capacity of 320 kW. It is said that the standard connection of the Audi SPKLU is 400 volts which is at the bottom with the upper part of the lounge for waiting.
Audi Charging Hub Project Manager, Ralph Hollmig said the presence of the Audi Charging hub with this new concept not only provides convenience when charging electric cars, but also helps a number of consumers who have difficulty finding a Charging hub.
“We visited a number of customers, now they don’t have to bother getting up in the morning to find their electric car battery fully charged,” Hollmig said.
This also helps consumers who live in apartments or houses but do not yet have their own charging facility. Audi hopes that this Charging hub can make it easier for consumers to charge cars comfortably and safely.
