Nio, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, is celebrating its 10th anniversary today, marking a decade of growth as the company embarks on an ambitious multi-brand strategy.

“Today, Nio turns 10,” wrote William Li, Nio’s founder, chairman, and CEO, in a message shared on the Nio App. Reflecting on the company’s journey, Li emphasized the transformative period during which Nio was established, with the automotive industry undergoing profound changes. “We started with the mission of ‘Blue Sky Coming’ and aspired to become a user-centric enterprise driven by leading technology and exceptional experiences,” Li stated. He expressed gratitude to the more than 620,000 users who have joined Nio’s global community, acknowledging their role in the company’s achievements.

Founded in Shanghai on November 25, 2014, Nio initially targeted the premium electric vehicle segment, a challenging space for domestic brands. Over the past decade, the company has achieved significant milestones, including the production of its 100,000th vehicle in April 2021 and its 500,000th in May 2023. By October 2024, Nio had delivered 619,851 vehicles globally, underscoring its growing presence in the market.

Nio continues to build on this momentum with a diverse lineup of vehicles under its main brand, including SUVs and sedans, and is preparing for the launch of the ET9, an executive flagship sedan set for delivery in early 2025. Alongside its primary offerings, Nio has unveiled two additional brands, Onvo and Firefly, which aim to broaden its appeal across different market segments. The Firefly brand, announced in November 2024, will be officially launched at Nio Day 2024 in December, with its first model expected to be delivered in the first half of 2025.

To celebrate its 10-year anniversary, Nio introduced a special package for the 2024 ES8, available to customers who place orders between November 25, 2024, and February 28, 2025. Acknowledging the challenges and high expectations surrounding the company’s development, Li expressed his determination to meet users’ needs. “Nio is not perfect yet,” he remarked, “but we will do our best to get better and live up to your expectations.”
