Sany Group has shipped its first batch of SKT110Ei pure-electric autonomous mining trucks to South America, marking the Chinese manufacturer’s first autonomous mining project in Latin America. The deployment combines an autonomous truck fleet with an intelligent dispatching system and lifecycle operation and maintenance services tailored to local mining conditions.
The project expands Sany’s autonomous electric mining operations beyond its established markets and demonstrates the company’s push to deploy its internally developed mining technologies internationally.

Autonomous Electric Trucks Enter Latin American Market
The SKT110Ei is equipped with Sany’s fully in-house-developed autonomous driving system, which is designed for mining environments requiring continuous operation and high reliability.
The deployment integrates several components into a single mining solution, including autonomous trucks, roadside infrastructure and a cloud-based dispatching platform.
Sany said the system is designed to address several challenges faced by mining operators, including haulage safety, shortages of skilled vehicle operators and rising labour costs.

The company has adapted the overall solution to the operating conditions of the South American customer rather than deploying the vehicle as a standalone product.
Sany Develops Cabless Electric Mining Truck
Sany also unveiled its first cabless pure-electric mining truck at the Sany Group Mining Summit 2026.
The vehicle supports ultra-fast charging through a liquid-cooled dual-gun charging system.
It can operate in three modes:
- On-site takeover
- Remote takeover
- Fully autonomous driving
The different operating modes are intended to allow the truck to be used across mining sites with varying levels of automation and operational requirements.
Autonomous Mining Fleet Expands Globally
Sany Intelligent Mining, a subsidiary of Sany International, had deployed more than 300 autonomous mining trucks worldwide as of July 2026.
According to the company, these vehicles had accumulated more than 13 million kilometres of operation and transported more than 41 million cubic metres of earth and rock.
The fleets have been deployed in demanding operating environments, providing Sany with operational experience as it expands autonomous mining technology beyond its domestic market.

Sany’s latest deployments combine two areas of vehicle development: battery-electric propulsion and autonomous operation.
The SKT110Ei project integrates the electric mining trucks with infrastructure and cloud-based fleet management rather than treating autonomous driving as an isolated vehicle function.
The South American project therefore represents both an expansion of Sany’s electric mining vehicle business and a broader international deployment of its autonomous mining technology.
The company’s growing global fleet provides a platform for further expansion of autonomous and electric mining solutions in markets outside China.
