Leapmotor presented its B10 compact SUV at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show, marking its domestic debut after an international unveiling at the Paris Auto Show in October. The B10, built on Leapmotor’s Leap 3.5 platform, is set to officially launch in the first quarter of 2025, the company announced.
The B10 is the first model in Leapmotor’s B-series, a new product line that will include SUVs, sedans, and hatchbacks, with three models planned for release over the next year. Designed with a focus on advanced technology, the B10 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip for its cockpit and a LiDAR-based intelligent driving system, which Leapmotor highlights as distinctive in its segment. The SUV is expected to offer a battery range of over 600 kilometers.
As a compact SUV, the B10 is similar in size to the BMW X1 and positioned to compete with models such as the Aito M5 and Nio (NYSE: NIO) Onvo L60. Leapmotor plans to market the B10 with a price range of RMB 100,000 ($13,840) to RMB 150,000, with a global rollout anticipated in 2025.
Leapmotor currently offers multiple vehicle models, including the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with most available as either battery electric vehicles (BEVs) or extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs).
Leapmotor’s production is currently running at full capacity at its facilities in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, which have a combined monthly output of 40,000 units. To meet growing demand and future sales targets, the company is constructing a new plant in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, slated to begin operations in the first half of 2024. Leapmotor has set a sales target of 500,000 units for 2025.
