Jeep has introduced its first fully electric vehicle, the Wagoneer S, marking a significant step in the company’s commitment to electrification. The new electric SUV, which is not based on a combustion model, is designed to compete with popular electric vehicles like the Tesla Model Y.
The Wagoneer S is based on the STLA-Large platform and features a 400-volt system capable of delivering over 800 Nm of torque. It boasts impressive performance, with the ability to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The vehicle’s 100 kWh battery can be charged from 20-80% in 23 minutes, offering a range of over 300 miles.

Jeep’s decision to enter the electric vehicle market comes after years of preparation and development. The company has kept its options open with drive development and plans to continue offering multiple drive options in the future.
Production of the Wagoneer S is set to begin in Mexico, with the electric model being assembled at the Toluca plant. While the exact pricing has not been revealed, production in Mexico is expected to result in somewhat lower costs for North American customers.
