Ford has recently unveiled its 2024 Mustang Mach-E lineup, introducing several upgrades that enhance the electric SUV’s performance and usability. Despite the late model year update, the improvements make the wait worthwhile for enthusiasts.
One of the significant enhancements across all models is the increase in estimated EPA range. The extended-range battery now offers up to 320 miles of range in the rear-wheel-drive motor configuration, thanks to a new rear motor and various efficiency improvements.
Additionally, Ford has improved fast-charging times significantly. The 2024 Mustang Mach-E with the extended-range battery can now charge from 10-80% in approximately 36.2 minutes, which is almost 20% faster than previous models. The standard-range battery options can achieve the same charge level in 32.3 minutes, marking a 5.7-minute improvement over the original Mustang Mach-E.
The 2024 model year also brings a performance upgrade and a new performance trim. The ‘Performance Upgrade’ shaves half a second off the Mach-E GT’s 0 to 60 mph acceleration time, making it the quickest Mustang Mach-E to date. With a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, it outpaces both the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric. This upgrade is optional on the Mach-E GT but comes standard on the new Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally.
The Mustang Mach-E Rally, in particular, is designed for both on-road and off-road performance, featuring a 1-inch higher ride height than the GT. It comes with a range of rally-inspired appearance elements, including wheels, tires, spoilers, and a stripe package.
Overall, Ford’s 2024 Mustang Mach-E lineup promises improved range, faster charging, and enhanced performance, making it a compelling option in the electric SUV market.
