Zeekr has finally revealed the name of its third model. Unlike its previous models, the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009, the new model will not be named after the number 3. Instead, it will be called the Zeekr X.
The X symbolizes limitless exploration, boundless imagination, and unending transcendence, according to Zeekr. The company also released official images of the vehicle.
Zeekr X promises to set a new benchmark for performance in the A-class SUV segment. With a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under four seconds, the Zeekr X is poised to deliver a thrilling driving experience.
In terms of dimensions, the Zeekr X measures 4,450 mm in length, 1,836 mm in width and 1,572 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. This is in comparison to the Zeekr 001, which measures 4,970 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,560 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,005 mm.
The Zeekr X is set to be built on Geely’s SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, which is also used for the Smart #1. The Smart #1 measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,822 mm in width, 1,636 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
The highly anticipated Zeekr’s third model is set to be unveiled at the Shanghai auto show in April. Despite speculations that it would be named Zeekr 003, a senior vice president from Geely has hinted otherwise. However, a recent poster and video teased by Zeekr emphasized the number “3,” leading many to believe that the automaker aims to make the compact SUV a classic rival to the Tesla Model 3.
Zeekr was established as an independent company in March 2021 and currently offers the Zeekr 001 hatchback and Zeekr 009 MPV, both manufactured at the company’s plant in Ningbo, Zhejiang. The third model, however, will be produced at one of Geely’s facilities in Chengdu, Sichuan.
As for sales, Zeekr’s deliveries in January were recorded at 3,116 units, down 11.73% from the same period last year and 72.51% from December.
