Chinese electric vehicle maker Zeekr plans to update four of its existing models and introduce two new SUVs by the end of the year, in a bid to improve transparency over product changes and strengthen its position in the market.
The Geely-owned brand said it will roll out upgrades to the Zeekr X compact EV, Zeekr 007 sedan, Zeekr 001 shooting brake, and Zeekr 7X SUV in the fourth quarter. The Zeekr X update, scheduled for September or later in the year, will add the company’s Golden Battery – a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack first unveiled in December 2023 – along with interior revisions.

The Golden Battery, based on the same chemistry as BYD’s Blade Battery, was first used in the Zeekr 007 sedan, which launched last December targeting the mainstream EV market. The refreshed Zeekr 007 will feature minor interior and exterior design changes, while its driver assistance system, battery and powertrain will remain the same. The Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 7X will be fitted with Nvidia’s Thor-U chip and a 900-volt high-voltage system on certain variants, alongside modest design updates.
No updates are planned for other models this year, including the Zeekr 007 GT, Zeekr 001 FR, Zeekr 009, Zeekr 009 Grand, and Zeekr Mix. As part of the transition, Zeekr is offering limited-time incentives such as five-year interest-free financing on the four models due for upgrades.

Alongside the refreshes, Zeekr will begin pre-sales of its new flagship, the Zeekr 9X, at the Chengdu auto show later this month. The full-size luxury SUV, unveiled at the Shanghai auto show in April, will be the company’s first hybrid and its first vehicle built on the SEA-S architecture. The company will also launch the Zeekr 8X in the fourth quarter, expected to be a smaller and more affordable hybrid SUV compared to the 9X.
