Since October 2021, Geely has started production and sales of the Zeekr 001 electric car technology in China.

The Tesla Model 3 and BYD Han EV challenger began production at the Zeekr Intelligent Factory in Ningbo, China.

How about the specifications? Starting from the platform, the Zeekr 001 is the first car to use the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform.

Zeekr 001 Specifications

For the Zeekr 001, the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform comes in a single Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) electric motor and two All-Wheel Drive (AWD) motors.

The RWD variant gets an electric motor that produces 200 kW or 272 hp and 384 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the AWD variant has two motors that produce a combined power of 400 kW or 544 hp and 768 Nm of torque.

Geely claims the All-Wheel Drive version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds while the RWD version is 6.9 seconds.

The battery options are no less interesting. Geely offers Zeekr 001 Lithium-ion batteries with capacities of 86 kWh and 100 kWh.

The 86 kWh battery is present in the AWD WE variant and is claimed to have a range of 526 kilometers according to the New European Driving Cycle.

Then the 100 kWh battery is present in the WE variant with RWD drive and YOU with AWD drive, each of which has a claimed mileage of 712 km and 606 km.

When compared to the Tesla Model 3, the RWD Zeekr 001 version is far superior in terms of mileage while the AWD version is slightly inferior.

Zeekr 001’s charging technology is no less interesting. Armed with fast charging up to 360 kW, Geely claims the Zeekr 001 can have a range of 120 kilometers after 5 minutes of charging.

Price Zeekr 001

Quoting from Autohome.com.cn, the electric car starts at 299,000 yuan or $47,000.

For additional information, Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform will later be used for Volvo’s electric car, the Polestar, and does not rule out the possibility of a new Smart SUV.
