Several years ago, Lexus sold one of their hatchback products, namely the CT. In addition to coming with a conventional engine variant, the Lexus CT also comes with a hybrid variant and was officially sold by Lexus and after that no echo was heard. However, recently it has been rumored that Lexus will revive the CT model.

Reporting from BestCarWeb, basically this latest generation of Lexus CT will not only be present in an electric variant. Later, there will be variants with conventional petrol and diesel engines and even hybrid variants. But certainly, the shape of the body from the previous hatchback will turn into a crossover.

Even though it will be a crossover or SUV, it is not yet known which position the Lexus CT will be in the Lexus SUV lineup. Many predict that its position will be under the Lexus UX, which until now is the smallest SUV or crossover from Lexus.

The Lexus CT itself has been sold since 2011 and is built on a platform made by the Toyota MC Platform which is the same base as the Toyota Prius, the old generation Corolla Altis which does not yet carry the TNGA Platform or the Toyota New Global Architecture.

It is reported that the base for conventional and hybrid engines which previously used a 1,800 cc engine will be completely replaced. Starting from a conventional engine, it will reportedly use 2,500 cc, while the hybrid version will use an engine with a capacity of 2,000 cc.

Then what about the electric version of the machine? There are no definite rumors or leaks regarding the powertrain used in the Lexus CT EV later. Although many suspect that later the Lexus CT will use a slightly larger battery than the Lexus UX EV or the equivalent of the Toyota bZ4X.
