GAC Aion, the premium electric vehicle brand of China’s GAC Group presents the Hyper electric super sports vehicle and its first representative Hyper SSR. The model looks like a typical supercar with gullwing doors and a maximum output of 913 kW.
The Hyper, as the name suggests, is intended as an electric hypercar. To achieve this, GAC has collaborated with the China National Space Administration and established its own research facility called the Hyper Scientific Research Laboratory.
The research facility is expected to make innovations in the fields of aerodynamics, materials and AI control, according to Chinese media reports. The results of the research are expected to be reflected in Aion Hyper products.
Hyper SSR comes in two versions. The regular version can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and will be offered at a pre-sale price of under 1.3 million yuan (about 190,000 euros). The second version, the Hyper SSR Ultimate, is claimed to accelerate from 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds and sells for under 1.7 million yuan (about 240,000 euros).
The Hyper SSR will be produced and shipped from October 2023, but there is no information regarding the number of units produced. The Aion GAC only provides the basic data of the Hyper SSR specification.
The electric super sports car will have 12,000 Nm of torque and will be based on a 900 volt platform. The body of the vehicle is made of carbon fiber and the interior will feature a 14.6-inch multimedia screen and an 8.8-inch instrument cluster.
