Aistaland, the premium electric vehicle brand jointly developed by GAC Group and Huawei, is reportedly planning battery-swap models, CnEVPost reported, citing Lanjinger. The report did not specify how many models are planned, when they will launch or which batteries they will use.
A source cited by Lanjinger said Aistaland could be among the first brands to introduce vehicles compatible with the network, pointing to its close collaboration with Huawei Qiankun. However, no official announcement has confirmed which brand will launch first.
Huawei and CATL Expand Battery-Swap Partnership
The report follows an October 19 agreement between Huawei’s automotive technology company Newcool, also known as Yinwang, CATL and Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology, CATL’s battery-swap operator.
Under the agreement, Newcool will help adapt vehicles equipped with Huawei Qiankun intelligent automotive solutions for CATL’s Choco battery-swap ecosystem.
Media reports have offered differing accounts of the initial rollout. LatePost reported that five partner models were tentatively planned for 2027, while Cailian identified Epicland, the brand jointly developed by Dongfeng and Huawei, as a potential first entrant. Aistaland has now emerged as another reported candidate.
Neither the model count nor the launch sequence has been officially confirmed.
Aistaland’s Existing Model Lineup
Aistaland operates through a collaboration between GAC and Huawei, with teams working together on vehicle definition and development. The brand has launched two models: the GT7 shooting brake, which went on sale on June 26, and the GX7 extended-range SUV, launched on September 23 with batteries supplied by CATL.
Joining CATL’s existing swap network could allow Aistaland to use established battery-replacement infrastructure rather than develop a separate system of its own.
For CATL, additional compatible models could help increase utilisation of its Choco network as the company expands battery-swapping services across China.
