Global tire manufacturer Hankook Tire has won the “Guinness World Records” world record for the third year in a row with Challenge 4’s record-breaking race, Rainer Zietlow, who this time conquered the Andes mountains in South America.
After the VW ID.3 Germany Tour (2020) and the VW ID.4 US Tour (2021), the professional long-distance driver set a new height record with the VW ID.4 GTX with all-terrain tires from Hankook for 4×4 vehicles, the Dynapro AT2 type.
The electric race car reaches a height of 5,816 meters above the Uturuncu volcano, which has two peaks reaching 6,008 and 5,930 meters.
After conquering the peak, the driver attended the German Embassy in La Paz on 23 May, where He received a Record Holder Certificate by a Guinness World Records representative.

Rainer Zietlow and his three-man team headed to Bolivia in a Volkswagen ID.4 GTX with the goal of conquering the world’s tallest, yet impassable, mine road on the Uturuncu volcano.
After months of the pandemic, the route has been reopened to tourists by the Quetena community at the foot of the volcano. After two weeks of preparation, on May 18 the team set out on their first record, where they surpassed the previous record by about 40 meters – a new world record altitude for electric vehicles.

The focus of development for this tire was to strike a special balance between the traction and resistance required off-road which is a great advantage for driving on rocky mountain roads in the Andes as well as good driving characteristics on the highway.
The name AT which means “All Terrain” doesn’t just mean nothing. With the Dynapro AT2, the journey doesn’t just end at the end of the road as long as you have the right vehicle.
